«Most of you folks must be looking forward to the weekend so that you can sit back at home and binge watch your favourite Netflix show. Though we agree that that's an amazing way to spend the weekend, something better to do would be to head over to the New Delhi World Book Fair.

»Take a break from screens for a while and reward your mind with fine works of literature, right here at the New Delhi World Book Fair (@ndworldbookfair). Not just that, the book fair also celebrates life and times of Mahatma Gandhi. Well, now you know where to spend your weekend.

»What's happening?

»The New Delhi World Book fair was first held back in 1972 and it attracted quite a lot of readers. Now, nearly 50 years later, the book fair is the stuff of legend and Delhiites, along with others, eagerly wait for its return each year. Offering the best of literary minds and the most pure language enthusiasts, the book fair is for all book lovers.

»This year, the theme of the book fair is two fold. The main theme is Gandhi: Writer's Writer, which aims to celebrate 150 years of Gandhi and his influence on Indian literature. He has had an effect on many Indian authors and here at the book fair, you can catch some of them in talks and discussions about contemporary topics.

»Another goal of the book fair is to promote reading in children. It is said that children should be introduced to literature early on in their life, and that they greatly benefit from books».
